Amazon Flex Drivers May be Owed Back Taxes and Benefits

The Law Office of Stan M. Doerrer PLLC is currently investigating whether Amazon Flex drivers may be owed additional compensation. A recent Virginia legal opinion has affirmed a prior finding that Amazon Flex drivers are employees, not independent contractors. See Amazon Logistics, Inc. v. Va. Empl. Comm’n, 78 Va. App. 521 (Va. Ct. of Appeals Sept. 26, 2023). As such, Amazon Flex drivers in Virginia, as well as the District of Columbia and Maryland, may be entitled to compensation.

If you are an Amazon Flex driver, you may be owed compensation for damages, including back taxes and lost benefits. Sources allege that Amazon Logistics, Inc. has been mischaracterizing Flex drivers as independent contractors when they are really employees. This misclassification has resulted in drivers being denied benefits and protections that they are entitled to under the law. If you are an Amazon Flex driver, you may be entitled to overtime, back taxes and other compensation as a result of this mischaracterization.
