We have significant experience successfully representing people who have suffered serious injuries or death. We have obtained millions of dollars for clients who have been seriously injured. If you or a family member have been seriously injured, we have the experience necessary to protect your rights and maximize the compensation you receive.

We represent people in relation to claims based on the wrongful death of a loved one. Wrongful death cases arise in all types of circumstances, including vehicle crashes, medical malpractice, and other dangerous conditions.

When a person’s death is caused by another’s wrongful conduct, suit can be brought to vindicate the person who was killed and to recover damages for the surviving family members or others who depended upon the deceased for financial or emotional support. Companion claims, called survival claims, can also be brought in some states on behalf of the deceased person, usually for claims such as pre-death conscious pain and suffering, pre-death lost earnings, and the like.

If you have been charged with a felony or misdemeanor crime, or a serious traffic violation, it is important to speak to a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Timing can play a critical role in preparing an effective defense against such charges. When you face the possibility of jail time, losing your driver’s license, and other consequences, you cannot afford to wait.

We also represent clients for breach of contract disputes with consumers or suppliers, business dissolution and partnership disputes, property damage claims, commercial and residential real estate litigation, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and judgment collections.

We help businesses protect their company’s goodwill while preventing the disruptions and prospective expenses of full-scale litigation.

We also have significant experience representing plaintiffs in class action cases in the District of Columbia and nationwide. Our principal has been a member of the plaintiffs’ team in large multi-district litigation matters including in the areas of antitrust, consumer fraud, and securities cases.

We are not afraid and will fight for you.

Alexandria, Virginia Uber Accident Lawyer – Stan M. Doerrer

Among other Uber accident cases, Mr. Doerrer represented a recent high school graduate who was thrown out of an open top Jeep Wrangler when it was hit by an Uber driver taking a left turn in the Jeep’s path. The client suffered serious injuries, including facial injuries requiring plastic surgery, and was left with permanent scarring on her face. Right before trial, a settlement was reached in which the Uber driver’s insurance as well as the Jeep driver’s insurance contributed to a settlement in the multiple six figures. More recently, Mr. Doerrer represented a husband and wife who were Uber passengers at the time of a serious crash in Washington DC. Mr. Doerrer’s quick investigation of the incident lead to a previously unknown security video which captured the crash and demonstrated that the Uber driver was not at fault. Personal injury claims were made against the driver of the other vehicle — who ran a red light immediately prior to hitting the car being driven by an Uber driver. In ridesharing cases involving Uber drivers or Lyft drivers, various questions need to be resolved, including: 1. Who was at fault?2. Is the injured party an Uber driver, passenger, or third […]

When a drunk driver causes an accident that causes injuries– there are additional considerations for victims. Because it is illegal to drive while intoxicated in Northern Virginia, the drunk driver’s own insurance company will often presume that the driver was negligent and admit fault for the crash. In such cases, the lawsuit may focus instead on damages. How bad was the crash? What injuries did the victim(s) have? How many victims are there? All these factors can affect the final result. One key issue for victims of drunk drivers, is punitive damages. Besides the damages available in most personal injury cases in Virginia, which compensate the victim for bodily injuries, medical expenses, pain and suffering, inconvenience, and lost wages, punitive damages may also be available for victims in drunk driving cases. Unlike compensatory damages, the purpose of punitive damages is to punish the defendant for outrageous conduct. In Virginia, punitive damages require that the defendant acted with malice toward the plaintiff, or that his conduct conduct is so willful or wanton as to show a conscious disregard […]
