As riders know, motorcycle riding is a fun but risky activity. Even the most experienced, safe riders with all the gear can get hurt in crashes. That is just an unfortunate fact of life for riders. Alexandria Virginia Motorcycle Injury Lawyer Stan Doerrer is a motorcycle rider himself and prides himself in helping riders who are injured or killed get the recovery they deserve. One big tip Attorney Doerrer has for motorcycle riders has to do with their insurance: Turn Up Those Limits! The state minimum insurance is simply not enough. The minimum insurance coverage is as follows in Virginia: Bodily injury/death of one person $25,000 (per person) Bodily injury/death of two or more persons $50,000 (per accident) Washington DC’s coverage limits are the same ($25,000/$50,000). Maryland’s are slightly increased ($30,000-$60,000). Because motorcyclists lack the protective structure of an automobile or truck, they are significantly more likely to suffer severe or fatal injuries when there is a crash. Unfortunately, more than 80% of all reported motorcycle crashes result in injury or death to the rider. That’s why I advise all motorcycle riders to increase their coverage as high as possible from the minimum limits so that they can take full […]Read More

When a person’s death is caused by another’s wrongful conduct, suit can be brought to vindicate the person who was killed and to recover damages for the surviving family members or others who depended upon the deceased for financial or emotional support. Companion claims, called survival claims, can also be brought in some states on behalf of the deceased person, usually for claims such as pre-death conscious pain and suffering, pre-death lost earnings, and the like.
If you have been charged with a felony or misdemeanor crime, or a serious traffic violation, it is important to speak to a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. We also have significant experience representing plaintiffs in class action cases in the District of Columbia and nationwide. Our principal has been a member of the plaintiffs’ team in large multi-district litigation matters including in the areas of antitrust, consumer fraud, and securities cases.
The Law Office of Stan M Doerrer, PLLC, working with co-counsel, is investigating a potential class action lawsuit consisting of consumer claims arising from a data breach reported by US Fertility. On November 26, 2020, US Fertility, one of the largest networks of fertility clinics in the United States, confirmed publicly that it had been hit by a ransomware attack in September, 2020, and that sensitive patient data may have been stolen. In its statement, it disclosed that hackers had “acquired a limited number of files,” but did not say how many. U.S. Fertility admitted, at that time, that patients’ personal information, like names and addresses, as well as social security numbers, were taken in the attack, and also warned that the attack may have involved protected health information. On January 8, 2021, US Fertility started sending letters to individual patients whose information was stolen to alert them to the breach. Many persons receiving these letters had been patients of Shady Grove Fertility or other clinics nationwide, whose IT platforms and services are supplied US Fertility. By the time of these letters, some such patients had already had their identities stolen and are already facing fallout from the breach. The […]Read More
